LOCAL bellydancer and dance school teacher Twan Badenhorst made it to the top 80 in the SA’s Got Talent 2017 auditions.
Out of 5 200 entries nationwide, Badenhorst first made it through the elimination process to 2 000.
“After that I made it through to the next round which was to be in the 500 selected auditions,” she said.
The next round was to reach the top 160, which was the Theatre Auditions held in Cape Town and Johannesburg in front of the three judges, DJ Fresh, Shadow Twala and Jamie Bartlett.
“I was flown by eTV to the Cape Town Theatre Auditions and my accommodation, tickets and meals all paid for, and performed in front of a live studio audience. I got three yes’s from the judges,” said a proud Badenhorst.
Out of the 160 contestants the next elimination process was to be part of the top 80, which was the quarter finals.
She made it and was excited to receive a phone call stating that she was on the short list for the top 21, which is the semi-finals live show in Johannesburg.
“I did unfortunately not make the top 21, but this has been such an incredible experience and a big eye opener to our beautiful country’s talent,” she said.
