VGHS has results worth boasting about

VICTORIA Girls High School (VGHS) was the only school in the Grahamstown/ Kenton/ Port Alfred Area to have a 100% pass rate for 2017.

Of the 82 young women who wrote the exams 78 achieved a Bachelor’s Pass, and four achieved a Diploma Pass. Forty five percent of the class achieved above a 70% aggregate and there were 115 subject A symbols.

“In the Sarah Baartman District (which is 58 000km² of the Eastern Cape) VGHS is one of only five schools to have achieved a 100% pass rate; and is only one of three schools to have achieved this pass rate consistently for the past five years! Truly excellence at its best!” said the school’s head of publicity Nadia Czeredrecki-Schmidt.

Results:

94.4% of symbols over 50% in 2017 (90% of symbols over 50% in 2016; 96.5%  in 2015; 97.5% in 2014; 97% in 2013; 85% in 2012; 90%  in 2011; 90% in 2010; 87,6% in 2009;  99% in 2008).

95% pupils have Bachelor’s Pass (93% in 2016; 90.5% in 2015; 96.5% in 2014; 90% in 2013; 89.5% in 2012; 92% in 2011; 90% in 2010; 87.5% in 2009; 94% in 2008).

6 A aggregates (6 in 2016; 6 in 2015; 5 in 2014; 1 in 2013; 7 in 2012; 7 in 2011; 5 in 2010; 3 in 2009; 5 in 2008).

45% of pupils above 70% aggregate (28% in 2016; 35% in 2015; 27% in 2014; 36% in 2013; 21% in 2012; 32% in 2011; 21% in 2010; 35% in 2009; 35% in 2008).

115 subject As (75 in 2016; 96 in 2015; 110 in 2014; 105 in 2013; 114 in 2012; 77 in 2009; 63 in 2010; 115 in 2011).
