Crime briefs from MultiSecurity

A BODY was found floating in the Kowie River next to Wharf Street on Sunday afternoon. MultiSecurity informed the police. An ambulance and traffic police also attended.

The dead man was described as being between 40 and 50. The circumstances of his death are unknown. The body was taken to a local funeral parlour.

MultiSecurity response officers attended, along with the police. They found that the burglars had forced open two front windows and one burglar bar, but had not been able to get inside.

Nothing appeared to have been stolen.

The response officer asked the guests to turn the music down, so they turned it off.

The resident approached the guests and asked them to leave the premises and it turned into a heated argument. The response officer asked his control room to get hold of the police to intervene.

The police attended as well as the owner of the premises.

No one was in the house and no one was injured in the blaze, which was extinguished.

They did not gain entry and fled the scene. One intruder was wearing a red T-shirt and blue jeans and a grey T-shirt and blue jeans. The police also responded and MultiSecurity patrolled the area but couldn’t find anyone.

A woman called the MultiSecurity control room asking for armed response and SAPS as when he came out the indoor pool she saw that her car, a white Toyota Yaris, was gone.

Two response officers attended and others were informed and kept a lookout for the car. But then the woman remembered that she had gone to another premises to use the bathroom before she went to the indoor pool. The response officers went to the premises and found the car parked there.
