SUN LOVERS: Last year’s dip into the ocean on the longest night inspired locals to brave the freezing temperatures and take the plunge. This year, Port Alfred High School have organised the Polar Plunge and invite everyone to come and enjoy the celebration

PORT Alfred residents are being asked to take a dip in the sea at dawn on the winter solstice, Thursday June 21 at East Beach to help raise funds for the Port Alfred High school pool project.

The Polar Plunge Challenge has been issued by the Port Alfred High School Alumni Association (PAHSAA) who aim to raise R100 000 by the end of the year.

An entry fee of either R50 per adult or R30 per child will be charged but will mean “plungers” can enjoy a bacon and Feathers Farm egg brekkie bun and hot coffee on the beach.

Now, what could be better than that?
