
Port Alfred High School’s first team rugby beat Linkside High 31-3 in their derby day clash on Saturday. Try-scorers for PAHS were Cameron Marais, Josh Cannon, Simankele Mata and Zenovan Denston (two tries). Ben Foster converted one try and Denston two. Coach Ryle Murray said his team had played with heart and showed good discipline on the field. ‘A few mistakes we can work on, but in all we’re happy with the win,’ he said.
The huge derby day at the PAHS grounds saw PAHS senior netball and hockey teams also face off against Linkside, while junior netball and hockey teams played against Merrifield and El Shaddai.
