Setting up the stands

The Port Alfred High School sports fields were a hive of activity on Saturday at the Talk of the Town Heritage Day Festival when they were transformed into a community fair.

It was an opportunity for the community to come together to support local business who had set up stalls, assist two local charities and, at the same time, enjoy the entertainment on offer, socialise and have a good time.

The community support was exceptional as they swarmed to the grounds to see what all the buzz was about.

But, to set up a festival of this size takes a lot of work, and the people at Talk of the Town spent many months preparing for the event.

At daybreak on Saturday morning, the TotT team met at the school to set up. The pictures show the team and some of the vendors at the beginning of the day when the dew was still thick on the grass and the sun had just begun to rise.

More pictures to follow of the day itself.
