Ndlambe Municipality, in partnership with Port Alfred Pick n Pay, Remax Properties and the Royal St Andrews Hotel, in conjunction with Zulu Sports Promotions, presents the eagerly awaited boxing tournament on October 26.
The must-attend event will take place in Port Alfred at Titi Jonas Multipurpose Centre, and tickets will be available at the gate at R50 per adult and R20 for schoolchildren.
Port Alfred Coach, Mbulelo Veto, said the gates will be opened at 6pm, but fights will commence at 7pm.
Supporters are anticipated from the surrounding towns such as East London, Grahamstown, Tinarha, Duncan Village and Port Elizabeth.
On the bill will be local Boxer, Ndikho Magadaza (Mini Cooper) who has the responsibility of pleasing home supporters yet tormenting the East London visitors when he takes on Mzamo Makibeni in the ring.
On the other hand, Grahamstown Boxer, Sonwabo Twatwa, will be facing East London’s Okuhle to demonstrate what he is capable of in the square ring.
Yanga Ndoyana will come all the way from Port Elizabeth wanting nothing more than to win, but that will be a steep mountain to climb when he pits himself against Duncan Village Boxer, Phumelela Cafu.
Another local Boxer, Siyabonga Mtatse, has been assigned to keep Ndlambe supporter’s mood in high spirits when he fights toe-to-toe with Duncan Village fighter, Xola Moshani.
Grahamstown’s trusted man, Lubabalo Bokuva, will try to show his strength against Port Elizabeth, Thabiso Zakhe who will also be on a mission to protect his own reputation.
Four middleweight rounds will be between Port Elizabeth’s ever-ready fighter Sinethemba Vellemani and a hard to beat Tinarha, Athi Mahanjana.
Grahamstown’s Phumelelo Mayi will be determined to make his name known in the ring against Duncan Village’s, Lindelani Gqadushe who is also known as a hard to beat man.
Siphosethu Zingela will face another Siphosethu, this time surname Madasa, with both boxers trying to prove that he is the real ‘Siphosethu’.
