Dunlop Express Port Alfred donates soccer kit

Nemato football club Paubs were thrilled to receive new three-piece soccer kit from Dunlop Express Port Alfred last week.

OFFERING OF APRECIATION: Owner of Dunlop Express Port Alfred, Francois Liebenberg, second from the right at the back, bought Paubs football team three-piece soccer kit in appreciation for the service of one of his employees, Sandiso Tyam, who is a member of the team. Co-owners Francois and Andrea Liebenberg also gave the team a new ball.

Despite being new in town and having recently met his employee, Sandiso Tyam, the Libenbergs were impressed by Tyam’s excellent service and were motivated into doing something for the community beyond the working environment.

It was Tyam who asked if the company would sponsor kit for his soccer team.

“He has been working for us since we arrived here in January and asked if we could sponsor his team with kit. This is a small town and we get support from everyone and we appreciate that,” Francois said.

Before moving to Port Alfred the Liebenbergs was based in Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown).

Francois was of the view that buying kit for a football club benefited the community at large. “This is for the community and this is a small town, not a city, so we are trying to help wherever we can,” he said.

Paubs coach Luthando Matomela extended gratitude to the Liebenbergs on behalf of the team. “This means a lot to us as we all know that the market is not doing well,” he said.

Paubs plays in the Ndlambe Local Football Association League and the kit comes at the right time when the local league is about to start.
