Almost a thousand pupils start the year at Mtyobo Primary School

The children at Mtyobo Primary School’s Grade 1C class wanted to say a big “Hello” when they began work as the school opened on Wednesday.

School principal Mava Booi was upbeat saying that all textbooks and furniture had been delivered by the department of education.

“We have just on 1,000 pupils at the school this year,” said Booi.

But he pointed out that, due to what appears to be water damage, the ground has begun to sink causing cracks in walls and supporting lintels.

“This problem needs to be addressed before someone gets hurt,” said Booi.
