WP beats EP in action-packed SA Beach Handball final

In an exciting boys’ beach handball final that ended in a 26-all draw, Western Province and Eastern Province went into extra time for five minutes that saw WP clinch victory 9-7 against their EP opponents on Sunday. It was the SA Beach Handball Championships at West Beach, part of the Royal St Andrews Hotel Amanzi Challenge. Only three provinces took part in this still young, developing sport, with North West in third place. But Eastern Province Handball president Zet Mdani said: “Come 2020 we hope for a full house of all provinces taking part.” And SA Handball Federation president Ally Pole said the Amanzi Challenge would definitely be on the handball calendar.
