Olive Pike, 98, honoured for her years of teaching at Clumber School

There was a special service at the Clumber Methodist Church yesterday after which the classroom at the old Clumber School was named in honour of long-time teacher, Olive Pike, who is now nearly 99 years old. Two former pupils of the rural primary school, Ross Purdon and Debbie Kent (nee Handley), paid tribute to “Auntie Ol”, after which congregants and visitors had a sit-down curry meal in the classroom which once served as a place of learning for Sub A to Standard 5 (Grades 1-7).
