A mother’s desperate stand against drug scourge

Station Hill residents around Fern Street had a war of words over crime and drugs in the community this morning. One mother of a 27-year-old addict said she was taking a stand because nothing was being done about the drug scourge. She said two families in the street were selling drugs but she could not point out the homes or her own life would be in danger. Police arrived to quell the situation after she tried to start a fire with some wood and a plastic crate in the street, which was kicked over by other residents.
