The atmosphere was very festive on Sunday when the new Port Alfred chapter of the Ulysses Motorcycle Association was opened at R72 Saloon.
Four of the association’s national executive attended the event, namely treasurer Leon Roux, secretary Julian Middleton, national president Hannes Wentzel and vice president Jan Pitter. Port Alfred Alfred’s Ulysses president, Jurie Erasmus, was very pleased that so many Ulysses members from other affiliated clubs in Port Elizabeth, East London and Queenstown attended.
“A big thank you goes to the national executive who travelled 1,200km to be here today,” said Erasmus.
The Ulysses Association in South Africa is just part of the enormous Ulysses Club that is spread throughout the world. Members must be 40-years or older to join, and the association organises rallies where funds raised go toward normal expenses and charities.
