Municipality insists ‘there are no homeless’

In the most recent virtual council meeting, Ndlambe mayor Khululwa Ncamiso said there were no homeless people in Port Alfred and voted to transfer money allocated to help the homeless to another project.

Realising the mayor’s statement was incorrect Talk of the Town visited the derelict municipal buildings in Pascoe Crescent, behind the old market building and opposite the SAPS offices to investigate. Two men were sitting outside the building and agreed to talk to us about how they had ended up there and their possible future.
