Face2Face with … Tali Alexandre

Q: Tell us about your job.

A: Well, I am 17 so I don’t exactly have one. But I do run the media and marketing at Port Alfred High School. I built our new website that can be found at www.pahs.co.za – and this expanded into all media platforms such as the web, Instagram and Facebook. We have also focused a lot more on school photography and events. I coach gymnastics at the Sunshine Coast Gym once a week. I work at BCreative once a month as well as tutor. I am also signed to Boss Models SA as a model.

Q: What made you get into that line of work?

A: I love my school and really just wanted to do my part in helping out. I think building this committee has done more good for me than anyone else. Though it is hard work and challenging, I have grown such a passion for it all. I like to keep myself busy, so always open to new opportunities. I was scouted by Boss last year and have been working with them since.

Q: Describe the most memorable experience that you have had in your line of work.

A: Probably watching the improvements on school videos made by our videographers and seeing students so excited for school photography; watching school events come together and seeing how it benefits the school. For modeling I would probably say my trip to Cape Town during men’s fashion week and shooting with some really cool brands and filming a commercial. It was such a fun atmosphere and got to meet some seriously talented people.

Q: What do you do to unwind when you are not working?

A: Usually if I’m not working, I’m asleep.

Q: What is your motto in life?

A: God is good, always and always, God is good.

Q: What makes you happy?

A: Making others happy

Q: What do you think about the youth of South Africa? Do you have any advice for them?

A: Honestly, I think we’re all pretty lost. The only advice I have is the advice I was given: Firstly, never stop doing your best just because someone didn’t give you credit you believe you deserved; secondly, get your priorities straight – focus on what will matter in the long run; thirdly, run to God, in everything.

Q: What do you like most about Port Alfred?

A: I don’t know that one, probably how everything is pretty close and that we are quite cut off from the rest of the hustle and bustle – and of course our beaches.

Q: If you could change one thing about Port Alfred…

A: McDonalds, definitely!

Q: What is your favourite music of all time?

A: How can you ask such a question? I grew up in a family where music was a huge part of our lives, I appreciate all types and believe it is such a powerful thing

Q: Who would you like to take on Amazing Race given the opportunity?

A: My family probably, would be quite the entertainment.
