GREEN Fountain Farm was the location for another provincial youth camp, this week, starting on Monday and ending tomorrow, and this time organised by the Department of Social Development.
A total of 193 youths, between the ages of 18 and 24 attended the camp which is intended to promote social cohesion. The youth are made up of selected post high-school pupils from eight districts in the Eastern Cape who have been unable to find employment since leaving school. Noticeably, unlike the recent Department of Sport and Recreation camp, there were no white youths included in the camp.
As in previous camps, the week comprises sport and team-building activities intended to produce leaders and build friendships as well as teaching the youth how to work together to accomplish predetermined tasks.
