I DRAW your attention to the inoperative sewage pump station just around the corner from the Talk of the Town offices, at the corner of Pike Lane and Becker Street.
For at least the past three weeks raw sewage from this pump has been flowing down Becker Street into the Kowie River, smack-bang in the middle of the water skiing zone on the Bay of Biscay.
The council sends the estimable “honey sucker” in several times a day, but it seems this cannot keep up with our residents’ impressive output, thus we have a constant flow of sewage down the road and into the river.
Forget about the effect this has on the locals, with the holiday season nearly upon us.
What sort of health risk will this pose for our much-needed visitors?
Perhaps there needs to be a bit more urgency in fixing this problem.
