IN the early hours of Thursday morning, Matombi Nobebe woke up to the cries of one of her children screaming for her to wake-up. Nobebe realised immediately that her house was burning down and jumped to action grabbing her four children to escape the burning house.
The family escaped unharmed but watched helplessly as the blistering flames quickly engulfed their shack. Tragically the family lost everything; clothes, furniture, food, bedding – nothing survived.
The family is in desperate need to help rebuild their home. For the remainder of the night, they slept on the grass outside as they have nowhere to go. Any assistance whether it be building material, clothes, household goods and food will be appreciated. The children have lost all their school supplies and uniforms but managed to source uniforms for the younger children. The eldest, a Grade 9 Nomzamo boy is still without. If anyone can help, please contact Nobebe on 073 777 4798 or Talk of the Town on 046 624 4356.
