Fun filled family day at Bathurst Farm Fair

The Bathurst Agricultural Museum held another successful farm fair day in spirit of keeping interest in the history of agriculture alive.

The latest open day at the museum was its best yet, with something for everyone, young and old alike.

Visitors who arrived were greeted by the sight and sound of blacksmiths at work in a forge under the Pike’s Post awning.

Renowned raconteur and battle re-enactment enthusiast Basil Mills held a brief talk about weapons used in battle, and explained to the little-lees how to operate a cannon. The cannon was shot off near noon much to the delight of family members and children who enjoyed a day filled with exciting events such as sack racing, horse-riding and a potjiekos cook off.
