
A 72-year-old woman died at her farm in the Thornhill area on Saturday evening, according to police spokeswoman Captain Gerda Swart.
“Her husband was admitted with burn wounds at a hospital in Port Elizabeth. Police have opened an inquest docket,” she said.
Swart said emergency services have been deployed in the area since the start of the fires.

A number of buildings and vegetation were also destroyed by fires in the area.
