KLEINEMONDE’S favourite hotspot, Lala Lapa, has had new life breathed into the premises since new owners Herman and Drika Louw bought the business earlier this year.
Herman and Drika as well as their son Herman junior, the general manager, hail from Hennenman in the Free State and are excited about the new chapter in their lives.
“My parents were looking for a new challenge and a new adventure, and when they came across the business decided to take the opportunity,” said Herman junior.
Last Saturday evening Lala Lapa had its official re-opening, with Kleinemonde, Port Alfred and surrounding residents showing up in support. The restaurant was booked out completely with guests eager to try the new menu filled with delicious meal options catering for all taste buds at affordable prices.
Bepsie Cronje, Drika’s sister, did the official welcoming and opened the bar, named Jannaz Deck, in honour of a family member who passed away recently.
Jannaz Deck beamed with patrons enjoying cold beverages while watching the rugby.
“Saturday evening was great, and we were very busy. It was a bit of a mad house,” said Herman junior.
