One person died while three others were injured in an accident outside Dutywa this morning.
According to Eastern Cape health department spokesman Sizwe Kupelo‚ there was a head-on collision between a Chevrolet Aveo and a Toyota double-cab bakkie belonging to Eskom.
The injured were rushed to Butterworth Hospital.
Kupelo said the accident happened at Sotomela‚ between Butterworth and Dutywa at 7.30am.
“One adult female driver of the Chev and two adult males were removed to hospital by EMS.’’
He said the cause of the accident was not yet known and a case of culpable homicide would be opened at the Dutywa Police station soon.
