Mpepanduku shows how it’s done

 

WITH the hall packed to capacity on Tuesday evening, Port Alfred High School appointed the new prefects for the coming year, along with announcing the head boy and head girl and their deputies at its annual prize giving for Grades 8 through 12.

TOP OF THE CLASS: As a reward for their dutiful service to the school, and as exemplars to the rest of the pupils, the head boy and girl and their deputies, along with the prefects for 2018 were announced at the Port Alfred High School prize giving ceremony on Tuesday evening. Head girl for 2017, Inga Mpepanduku, found it difficult to carry the clutch of trophies she was awarded on the evening including the English Literature Cup for Grade 12, the Simpihiwe Salukazana Cup for the best contribution to debating (with Simyaleza Ndinisa), the Kevin Anderson Cup for endurance, courage and tenacity of purpose and the FNB Book Prize for the highest academic aggregate in Grade 12.

The choir sang a selection of songs before the main prize giving began.
