Crash causes hold-up on the R72 in Port Alfred

TRAFFIC came to a halt on Port Alfred’s Nico Malan Bridge this morning as a three-car pile-up caused delays.

Asking witnesses at the scene what had happened, it was reported that a man had slammed on his brakes [reason unknown] and that the car behind him, driven by DA councillor Joc Guest, had been forced to brake hard as well. The third vehicle behind Guest had also slammed on her brakes but too late to avoid the accident and had hit Guest’s car hard in the rear.
