Following several reported incidents of house break-ins in the Riversbend area at Kenton onSea,, local detectives, members of the Port Alfred K9, as well as security officers from a local security company and community members made a significant breakthrough yesterday and arrested four(4) suspects in their twenties. Property to the value of R 54 000-00 was also recovered and handed to the owner! One of the suspects has also been positively linked to several other housebreaking cases which took place during the year.

On Saturday afternoon, a Farm Security Manager, noticed a male carrying a black travel case and grey kit bag which appeared to be full on the Bathurst Road. He approached the male and discovered a Sony screen LG screen LG Dvd player and a lot more tools and dvds. SAPS members were summoned to assist and it was established that a farmhouse had been broken into. All the property was handed back to the ecstatic owner.
Brigadier Govender the Port Allfred Cluster Commander thanked all those involved in the arrest and recovery and said, “through the commitment and dedication of our members, community, and local security officers, we can certainly win this battle against crime.”

All the Suspects will appear on Tuesday at Alexandria and Port Alfred Magistrate Court respectively on housebreaking charges.
