Community Policing Forum warns about jogging alone

FOLLOWING a recent incident where a lone female jogger was brutally attacked close to the Port Alfred Fire Station, together with other incidents where joggers have been attacked and robbed, police warned joggers to never run alone or during the hours of darkness, but to rather run in pairs or bigger groups.

Port Alfred Station Commander Colonel Lizette Zeelie was speaking at the Community Policing Forum (CPF) meeting, held at the station on Tuesday afternoon.

Supporting her in this matter were members of the security companies representing MultiSecurity and Sky Alarms.

“This is a problem that must be taken seriously,” added SAPS Captain Jacques Barkhuizen.
