A FUN boat cruise and party for students from Stenden South Africa and 43 Air School last Friday served as both an awareness event for autism and a fundraiser for a local boy with autism.
The event, organised by analytical behavioural analysis (ABA) therapist Juané Dorfling and Carl McLellan, started with a boat cruise on the Kowie River, then snacks and cocktails at Tash’s Craft Bar, and ended with a James Bond-themed party at Guido’s.
The Halyards Hotel sponsored the cruise, the Little Brewery on the Wharf sponsored beer, Tash’s the snacks and Guido’s donated part of their Friday night entrance fee to the autism fundraiser.
The beneficiary is three-year-old Noah Kirsten, whose dad Ralph raised funds last year by walking along the wild coast with a couple of friends.
