Helping the community help itself

AMONG the many charities that benefit from the Mad Hatters golf tournament, Minet Nojoko, with his practical concept of helping residents of the nearby townships grow their own vegetables, received R3 000 worth of gardening equipment.

“It’s worth a lot more than what we paid, but Buco has given us good discounts,” said Rob Hoar, Mad Hatter organiser.

GARDEN BONANZA: In the spirit of giving, the Mad Hatter golf tournament donated R3 000 worth of gardening equipment on Monday, including wheelbarrows, spades, rakes and a lot more to Minet ‘Rastar’ Nojoko, second from left, who assists ordinary folk in the township to plant vegetable gardens.
