Bisho man, 28, drowns in a swimming pool in Port Alfred

“On Friday, November 8 at 11pm there was a fatal drowning NSRI Port Alfred duty crew were activated following reports of a drowning accident in a swimming pool at a Chalet in Port Alfred.

“NSRI Port Alfred crew and medics responded to a joint operation with Atlas Security officers, EC Government Health EMS and the SA Police Services on the scene and Gardmed ambulance services where a 28-year-old male from Bisho appeared to have drowned,” said Slade.

“On arrival at the scene, NSRI medics joined paramedics and continued extensive CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) efforts but, after all efforts to resuscitate the man were exhausted, the man was declared deceased.

“The body of the man has been taken into the care of Government Health Forensic Pathology Services and Police have opened an inquest docket.

“Condolences are conveyed to family and friends of the deceased man”
