South Africa had 21,832 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 31,368 deaths to date from a total of 1,149,591 confirmed positive cases with 175,941 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 929,239 recoveries.
With 310,201 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
