South Africa had 21,606 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 32,824 deaths to date from a total of 1,214,176 confirmed positive cases with 179,713 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 956,712 recoveries.
With 328,925 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
