Boknes Woody Cape Cycle Challenge: your race-day guide

Here is some important information about the start and finish of the Boknes Woody Cape Cycle Challenge on Saturday December 27.
Getting to the start
* Access to the Boknes Community Hall (Main Road) will be closed from the intersection at Pam Golding’s offices from 5am on race day. Cyclists and supporters will be diverted left and arrows will indicate the route to the parking area.
* Parking is available on the right shoulder of Main Road coming back to the Boknes Hall from Second Avenue. Parking signs will be placed on the right shoulder.
The finish
* Cyclists finishing their race will proceeed up Main Road from Pam Golding and pass under the start/finish banner. After crossing the finish line riders will be scanned by officials for finishing times and race medals will be handed over.
* Race finishers will be diverted to the access road to the hall on the eastern side.
* The area between the Hall and Main Road will be barricaded off so no finishing riders will be allowed access to this area. Cycles can be left on the east of the hall. Hi-Tec Security personnel will be patrolling this area.
Afterwards
* Various services and entertainment will be set up in the area in front of the hall. These include food and refreshments including boerewors rolls, pannekoek, M&M coffee, soft drinks and water, There will be tables and chairs, a cycle workshop operated by Cycle Asylum, a jumping castle for the little ones (under parent’s supervision). Refreshment facilities will be operating from 5am on race day.
* Every rider entered in the race can trade their race number for a boerewors roll and a soft drink after completing the race.
* Barriers will be erected along Main Road in front of the hall blocking access to riders but allowing spectators to view the finish line.
* There are no place prizes for the 10km race. The 54km race will award first, second and third cash prizes for overall male and female winners.
* E-bikes are welcome but do not qualify for place prizes.
* Spot prizes will be awarded throughout the morning from a pool of riders who have completed the race. Our announcer will communicate prize winners from time to time.
Number collections all day Friday 26 December at the Boknes Community Hall. Late collections on race day morning only by prior arrangement.
