Six in court for alleged drug dealing

EASTERN CAPE  – Six suspects appeared on Friday at the East London Magistrate court for dealing in cocaine.

The accused are Saleh Kasim (37), Rajaba Mshana (23), Juma Saed  (22), Mohammed Ali  (24), who are all from Tanzania, Shafii Mijari  (37) who is from Burundi and Asanda Tunyiswa (30), a South African.

All six were arrested on Wednesday as a result of a joint investigation between the Hawks and Crime Intelligence (CI).

Members received information that these six suspects were selling a variety of drugs in Quigney,East London.

The Hawks and CI then conducted an undercover operation from June 6-15 2017 which saw the six accused selling cocaine to undercover agents.

Members of the Tactical Response Team assisted the two units in conducting the arrests on Wednesday.

All six accused remain in custody and will appear again on Monday for a formal bail application.
