Former Nelson Mandela Bay communications director arrested for fraud

PORT ELIZABETH – Former Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality spokesman Roland Aloysius Williams (46) appeared before the Port Elizabeth Magistrate court on Thursday for alleged fraud.

Williams is accused of allegedly submitting a fraudulently car insurance claim to a Port Elizabeth company.

He claimed he was allegedly involved in a car accident in Motherwell and after submitting claims the insurance company paid out a substantial amount of money.

The claim was reported to the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime which led to Williams arrest on Thursday.

Williams was granted R2000 bail by the court and he will reappear before the same court on 23 August 2017.
