Loose ends tied up in latest “Planet of the Apes” movie

War for the Planet of the Apes, with Woody Harrelson, Andy Sirkis, Steve Zhan Amiah Miller, directed by Matt Reaves

4.5/5

PERHAPS you’re a little confused as to how all the stories of post-human-dominated Earth tie together. In this case, the latest movie in the series, War for the Planet of the Apes, should help you understand better how the humans (at least as we understand them) came to be dominated by our simian cousins.

DETERMINED TO WIN: Caesar, played by Andy Sirkis, is the leader of the apes who are being persecuted by soldiers working for the Colonel, played by Woody Harrelson in War for the Planet of the Apes, the latest in the Planet of the Apes franchise

Like its predecessor, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, this movie has some stunning cinematography, with wide vistas that become the sites of some epic battles. You will need your reading glasses as most of the apes don’t talk and you have to read the subtitles. But you soon begin to understand their hand signs and it actually makes the movie a little more interesting.

Altogether, this is a good movie, and is a welcome addition to followers of the genre.
