HOMEBASE at the Anchorage Mall suffered a break-in in the early hours of Wednesday morning in which glass at the front entrance was broken and various store items were stolen, including money from the till.
MultiSecurity control room received a phone call from SAPS who reported the incident.
A worker at The Penny Farthing saw someone smashing the glass door and promptly called SAPS. The burglar smashed the glass front door at the bottom on the right hand side to gain entry.
A MultiSecurity reaction officer reported that the suspect had crawled on the floor and took the cash out of the till as well as a small box containing silver jewellery.
A Hi-Tec guard was posted for the night.
