A NEMATO woman, her daughter and three grandchildren including a 16 month old baby girl escaped a potentially deadly incident when they decided to spend the night at a relatives house Sunday evening.
In the early hours of Monday morning, Bukelwa Khundulu’s boyfriend set her house on fire causing the shack to burn to the ground, destroying all of Khundulu’s and her family’s possessions.
TotT was alerted to the family’s plight by EFF member Xolisa Runeli who condemned the arson attack.
Two of the children are pupils at Mtyobo Primary School and have lost all of their school supplies, clothes and uniforms. The girl is 14 years old and the boy is 13.
ANC ward 7 councilor, Myuyiseli Yali confirmed he has made an appeal for help to disaster management.
“Any assistance would be of great assistance as the family has lost literally everything. No ID books, no clothes, no furniture. They are currently residing with a neighbor of theirs,” said ward 7 DA proportional representation councilor, Khanyisa Daweti.

Khundulu is a size 12 and wears size 6/7 shoes and the daughter is a size 30 and wears the same size shoes.
