Buy into a legacy

Date:

ARTWORK CLEARANCE: Doreen Steenkamp, wife of the late Tiny Steenkamp, is selling his paintings which consist of landscapes, wildlife and seascapes from her home in Settlers Park Picture: ROB KNOWLES

TINY Steenkamp who in earlier years performed in London’s Palladium Theatre, was dubbed South Africa’s own Mario Lanza.

He later went on to perform with “brush in hand” and produced a number of artworks, painting under the name Hugo Warren, the names of his two brothers. He simultaneously took time out to assist many charities and was the founder of the very well supported Sunday Soirées.

Even once wheelchair-bound, he continued to entertain the elderly and raise funds for local churches.  The proceeds of all these events were paid forward.

Tiny was a popular figure in Port Alfred and in his infirmity raised concern over the lack of wheelchair friendly facilities in the Town!

His widow Doreen is now opening the safe and giving the public the opportunity to pay homage to this great man by viewing and possibly investing into the legacy of Hugo Warren.

For an appointment contact Doreen on (046) 604-0432 or 083-355-9032.

Tiny’s paintings will also be on display at The Bathurst Arms, Saturday and Sunday until further notice.
