Ndlambe could lose its skate park

NO PLACE TO GO: The skate park equipment, purchased in early 2018, is still in need of a place to be housed or else Makana Municipality has said that it has a place earmarked and would like to take it off Ndlambe’s hands

If Ndlambe cannot provide land to erect skate park equipment acquired in February last year then neighbouring Makana Municipality has already made plans for it.

This was revealed at the latest full council meeting that took place at the council chambers last Wednesday (March 27).

DA councillor Skura Venene brought the item to the attention of the other councillors and said that if we don’t use the skate park Makana would be happy to take it off our hands.

“We have until April to get the site for the skate park established or else we will lose it,” said Venene.

The six-ramp skate park was purchased from a man in George,  in the Western Cape, disassembled and transported to Port Alfred in February last year and has been stored at the Nemato Change a Life (NCAL) facility in Nemato awaiting word that an area has been designated for its reassembly to enable it to be used.

  1. Oh please don’t let Makana get this………. make a plan and find a venue…… what about up at Rosehill or behind the air school?

  2. The Makana Municipality should be more concerned with refuse collection, potholes, drinkable water than even thinking of a skatepark anyway.
