Tributes flowed from the Bathurst community for Multi Security response officer Cheree Dewey, with many commenting on how she’d made them feel safe, and welcome, in the village. Community members decorated the area at the Bathurst Showgrounds where her memorial was held. The tribute below is from her colleagues at Multi Security.
On Saturday we honoured the memory of our beloved and dedicated armed response officer, Cheree, in Bathurst. A dignified motorcade proceeded from the Bathurst SAPS to the Bathurst Showgrounds, paying tribute to her remarkable service and commitment to the safety of her community.
Cheree was a long-serving member of Multi Security Services and paved the way for future generations as our very first female armed response officer, appointed by Multi Security founder, Mike Millard.
Multi Security owner, Clinton Millard, delivered a heartfelt tribute celebrating Cheree’s dedication and commitment to our team and the safety of her much-loved community.
The motorcade was a testament to the strong bonds between our community’s emergency services, with members from Multi Security Services, South African Police Service (SAPS), Gardmed Ambulance Services, Ndlambe Fire Department, Ndlambe Traffic Services and Hi-Tec Security joining in her memory.
We will deeply miss Cheree’s presence, but her legacy will continue to inspire us.
RIP Cheree.
Forever in our hearts
