The Kingswood girls first water polo team came away with a prized 6-4 victory against their DSG counterparts last week.
As has become customary, this fixture served as the ideal encounter for both schools to begin the season with.
After Kingswood had won their last encounter 6-1, it was always going to be difficult for the home team to replicate the feat.
However, while very rusty at times, there certainly were occasions when Kingswood clearly had the upper hand.
DSG, on the other hand, also had passages of promising play and were never going to allow the game to become a one-sided affair.
Both DSG and Kingswood will have their hands full when they take on several visiting teams from around the country in the Brian Baker tournament hosted annually by Kingswood.
