THERE was a feast of rowing for spectators to enjoy at the Settlers Sprints regatta last weekend, which was held on the Kowie River this year as the Settlers Dam in Grahamstown has run dry.
The annual regatta is hosted by St Andrew’s College. The Henley “knock-out” style racing attracted an overwhelming number of entries with 313 boats in 142 races for the 25 events on offer.
Participating teams came from Selborne College and Clarendon Girl High School in East London, Grey High School in Port Elizabeth, Rhodes University, Nelson Mandela University (NMU), Redhouse Rowing Club, Buffalo Rowing Club and Nemato Rowing Club.
