Excelling at Highland flings

WITH the introduction of the up and coming St Andrew’s Prep Pipe Band, several of the Junior Prep girls have been inspired to take up Highland dancing.

Grade 3 pupil Kate Rose-Innes participated in the East Coast Highland Dancing Festival last weekend and did extremely well. Kate danced in the Beginners Section and was placed as follows: three 1st places, three 2nd places, overall winner in the Highland section and tied winner in the National section.

Kate continued to dance her way into peoples’ hearts at the Aloe Awards Competition held in East London, for accumulated points from the Eastern Cape Highland Dancing competitions last year. Kate was awarded as the runner-up in the Beginner section as well as a prize for consistent participation from a new beginner.
