Vintage and classic cars set out from Rosehill Mall this morning on the first day of the two-day OD Inggs Memorial Run. Competitors navigate a route comprising 300km on the first day and 100km on the second.
The rally is held under national rules and guidelines and at no time are vehicles allowed to exceed 80% of the speed limit. This presents a huge challenge as the speedometers in the vehicle are covered up for the duration of the rally. The speed of the vehicles is calculated by navigators using a stop watch and observing road markings and other signs on the roads.
