
BUCO Port Alfred’s annual golf day lived up to expectations with more than 120 golfers participating in the charity drive in aid of Palcare (formerly Hospice) last Friday at Royal Port Alfred. The fourball- betterball event teed off early in sweltering conditions with enthusiastic golfers having to take a timeout after nine holes to hydrate and have something to munch.
The prize-giving was its usual celebratory affair with the clubhouse lounge packed to capacity with golfers eager to get their hands on prizes after the day’s proceedings. Invited guests had their opportunity to win luck draw raffles.
Prizes won were wheelbarrows, small safes, braai equipment, eco tanks, and pet food, among others.
Winners on 60 points were Brad Coetzee Ant de Bruin and JJ French who won R4,000 and eco tanks, second winning eco tanks were James Cameron and Mike Fuller and team on 59 points and in third, also on 59 points. who won new wheelbarrows and dog food worth R4,800 were Nathi Mbabela, Melvin Mbabela and Patrick Feni.
