The boogie boarding ensemble, Kowie Granny Grommets, displayed their compassionate side by donating an assortment of pet food to the Port Alfred SPCA.
Jenny Hodgskiss and Claire Bell on Friday, on behalf of the KGGs, were on hand to deliver the boxes of pet food to SPCA assistants.
Hodsgkiss said the group instead of exchanging Christmas gifts at their end-of-year luncheon decided they would rather contribute to a needy cause and chose the SPCA.
“Everyone was in on it, and  I think we will be making this an annual outreach as there are a lot of ‘boarders’ to be looked  after this time of the year and they do need extra food,” said Hodgskiss.
Bell said that there was demand for pet food especially when it came to stray animals “and this initiative was close to our hearts”.
