AS a political and media studies graduate, 27-year-old Thokozani Mtiki (TK to his friends) graduated from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal with a BA, majoring in politics and media studies.
Mtiki said it was on the advice of his sister, who had seen the advertisement on the web for an internship with Tiso Blackstar, for which he applied and was lucky enough to be offered employment at Talk of the Town.
Mtiki is the fourth of five children, having grown up with two brothers and two sisters.
Before moving to Port Alfred, Mtiki was living in Pretoria. He said it was a bit of a culture shock to come from a big city to a small rural town.
“I knew lots of people where I was but it’s difficult coming to a place where I know no one,” he said. “But I’m looking forward to the challenges of my new job.”
