Dr Charles Louw addressed players at the prize giving for the Jean Louw Ladies’ Classic, named for his late wife, which took place on June 12 and 13 at the Kowie Bowls Club. It is the ninth year that the Louw family has sponsored the competition, but the inter-club competition has been going since 1991. Twenty teams from around the Eastern Cape took part and Gonubie Bowls Club came first. Charles Louw handed out the prizes with his daughter Anne Muir and thanked Kowie Bowls Club ladies’ captain Claire Bell for organising the event.
