Well, that’s eight days of National Arts Festival done and dusted, as they say, but there’s still another three days of antics and animated action to go in the ‘Festival City’ of Makhanda (Grahamstown).
Festival goers and prospective festival goers who have not yet booked their seats for some of the top-line shows still to hit festival stages, chances are pretty slim they’ll be able to secure tickets.
But there are still many more performances that have been attracting full houses and doing exceptionally well, and for which tickets are still available.
This weekend’s shows that are either sold out or whose tickets are selling well include some of the country’s top acts – Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Mafikizolo, Springbok Nude Girls, Freshlyground, The Very Big Comedy Show featuring no less than seven comedians and, on the dance programme, Amawethu presented by the South African State Theatre.
