
The Bathurst Family Day on Saturday, August 27, had plenty of entertainment on offer for families. Children enjoyed fun games throughout the day, along with facepainting and trailer rides. MUSIC MAN: Guitarist and singer, Aden Hinds performs near the stalls outside the arena. Hinds started his singing career in 2002 and has performed with great artists such as Johnny Clegg. The solo artist is currently touring the country.
SHOES TO BOOT! Nicki Scott had puzzles, coffee mugs, shoes and home décor available at her car boot sale.

CRAFT ARTISTS: Maziwe Funde and Thembela September’s stall had their handmade telephone wire bowls on display. It can take up to three days to make each bowl and they got training for this artistry back in 2011 at Kenton-On-Sea. You can also find the ladies selling their beautiful bowls at the Bathurst Farmers Market on Sundays.

CANINE SKILL: Accredited K-9 (dog) handler Charlton Hilpert puts drug-detecting border collie, Sasha, through her paces. Hilpert showcased Panther Security’s additions to farm security with a dog display at the main arena. The second display was with a Belgian Shepherd, Loki, a K-9 farm patroller who is trained to apprehend fleeing suspects. Hilpert, a former police officer, is the operational manager at Panther Security, responsible for training and the maintenance of canine partners.
